The Beauty of Panama...

Click on any photo to enlarge.

Panama is such a pretty country. As my friends know, I love colors and love nature. Here, the variety of butterflies, flowers and birds is truly astounding. I figured that for this month, I would include a collection of pictures I've taken of flowers. Click on the pic to enlarge. The first one is one that blossomed overnight on my front lawn. I thought it was a weed and procrastinated at pulling it.

Central America is completely different from where most of us westerners live. From food, to music to cars and even road kill, it's like visiting another planet. This little guy is a 6 foot croc, happily meandering the grass looking for a chicken. Took 6 guys to tie it up and take it out to the bush.

The above pics of the islands were taken during our mini vacation in Bocas Del Toro, Panama. Red Frog Beach is amazing as you can see, and the few kids you'll see will usually hang around trying to scavenge anything from money to attention. However, because they're cute, it's bearable.
Beaches are usually deserted, water is crystal clear and invitingly warm, and the scenery is to die for. Snorkeling anywhere gives you ample view of the extensive marine life, and it's not uncommon to see manta rays dig themselves out from the sand and glide silently and gracefully away as you swim by.
